Summer in Boulder is a wonderful time of year. The longer days and warmer temperatures have residents and visitors spending more time outdoors and taking in all that the city has the offer. Boulder was recently named one of the top 20 best cities for travel in summer by Forbes, and for good reason! No matter how you enjoy spending your summer days, there’s an abundance of activities in Boulder for everyone.

What’s better than spending some time in or by the water on a scorching hot summer day? Well, we can’t think of much. Lucky for you water lovers our city has several options for staying cool. We recommend packing a picnic and spending your day tubing or wading at Boulder Creek (and enjoying some shade while you’re there), or taking advantage of Boulder’s two outdoor public pools, Spruce Pool or Scott Carpenter Park Pool. For the adventure lovers, head to Boulder Reservoir for boating and paddleboarding. Our area is fortunate to have several parks that are perfect for hiking, including Chautauqua Park, and Eldorado State Park 20 minutes south of Boulder.

After you’ve spent the day having some fun in the sun, grab some friends and check out one of Boulder’s outdoor concerts. You can find a concert held outside every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday in several venues around the city.

After the concert, you’re sure to be hungry. There’s no better city to dine in than Boulder. Boulder boasts a wide variety of restaurant options ranging from cheap taco joints to fine steakhouses. No matter what type of food you’re in the mood for, there are several options for you to choose from. There’s no shortage of outdoor patios to continue your summer day while eating and enjoying the evening weather.
